Specifically, in the workshop, we test these settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> to simulate the following sensations\u2026\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sour: magnitude of current: 180 mA, PWM duty cycle:\n67%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Salty: magnitude of current: 40 mA, PWM duty cycle:\n20%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bitter: magnitude of current: 80 mA, PWM duty\ncycle: 43%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*Variable Pulse Wave Modulated [PWD]&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Materials:<br>\n<\/strong>Arduino, electrical cables,\nprototyping board cocktail glass [or other receptacles] 4mm copper tape, Water,\nVarious foodstuffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instruction:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The diagram (above) gives an outline of the\nelectronic circuit required to create an electronic taste perception experiment\nin conjunction with the Arduino code. The circuit is created through the body\nvia a fingertip and another electrode which is placed inside the glass, the\ncircuit completed when the drink enters the mouth. The potentiometer adjusts\nthe frequency of the signal which in theory can then simulate different kinds\nof taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experiment with different liquids and food types to\nsee how the electrical signal augments different flavours. Note that foodstuffs\nwith high moisture content are more effective such as a cucumber.
