This\u00a0could be concealed into an object or placed around a space to create a distributed soundscape that\u00a0can\u00a0be interacted with.<\/p>\n<p>We can interact with these sounds using another coil, antenna attached to an amplifier or a guitar pickup coil. So the\u00a0soundscape can be experienced through personal headphones or mobile speakers, as the user handles the objects or moves through or navigates the space.<\/p>\n<p>In this\u00a0activity, we experiment with this idea, create objects spaces and sounds to be interacted with. We use\u00a0mini Guitar amps\u00a0as mobile sound systems. Create coils and amplification circuits.<\/p>\n<p>How does this\u00a0affect the\u00a0choices we make when considering the objects we make? What are performative possibilities?<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nTransmitter Materials<br \/>\n<\/strong>Copper wire SWG 33 \/ .25mm enamelled copper wire \/ 500g \/ Solderable<br \/>\n8x 12w Audio Amplifiers 4ohm<br \/>\n8x Channel Sound Card<br \/>\nCables and adaptors to connect<\/p>\n<p><strong>Receiver<\/strong><br \/>\nSound recorder \/ portable\u00a0speaker [mini guitar amp]\nGuitar pick up coil<br \/>\nOr Create a DIY version using an LM386 chip and even\u00a0a DIY coil using the same enamelled wire<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transmitter Loops.<\/strong><br \/>\nLoops of wire can be coiled or spanned around\u00a0space. Based on the amplifier spec &#8211; in this case,\u00a0it is designed\u00a0for a &#8216;4ohm&#8217; speaker. To replicate this a similar resistance need to be created\u00a0either using resistors [with high voltage spec] or a long length of wire\/ the resistance\u00a0should be measured\u00a0using a multimeter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Power.<\/strong> These amps can power a speaker\u00a0well using a 9v battery &#8211; but driving a coil need more power and amps.
