A \u2018Re\/Action\u2019 is a form of experiential art which resembles a workshop and consists of a series \u2018actions\u2019 performed or experienced by participants who interchange between roles of experimenter and audience. The focus is on reflection and introspection, for both the experimenter and participant. The process should generate new questions and evolving iterations for future action and re\/action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Initiation:<\/strong> Preparatory sub-actions,\nquestionnaires and tasks that serve as cognitive primers which inform the\nfollowing actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Action:<\/strong> The experience [an experiment] This should include qualitative and quantitative measures, further questionnaires, biometric data [sweat response \/ Heart rate] that feeds back into the experience. Importantly the process and apparatus of data collection are part of the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Reflection:<\/strong> Interview and discussion. This\nshould comprise of structured and un\/structured elements, recorded and\ntranscribed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. Analysis: <\/strong>The experimenter should engage in\na process of self\/reflection. \u2026 Analyse the results in detail and extract meaning\nfrom the data* and devising forms of presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This\nwill inform step 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5: Re\/Action <\/strong>\u2013 Re\/setting of parameters. After\nmaking necessary modifications if, steps 1-4 are repeated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 5a. Documentation: <\/strong>This can include ant documents data* and residual artefacts [apparatus, tools] generated through steps 1-5. This should include detailed notes and diagrams which would aid and potential future Re\/Action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n *\nQualitative and quantitative data should be thought of as a\nform of documentation.
