I made this the lapse film from inside a melting ice cube while I was recording its sound with a hydrophone. If you’ve ever taken the time to look into a block of ice, you might have noticed tiny air bubbles trapped inside. Apparently the appearance of these bubbles depends on factors like how much air was dissolved in the water, the surrounding air pressure, and the rate at which the water froze.
The way air bubbles often form trails, seeming to nucleate from specific points—almost like miniature explosions frozen in time.
